The high cost of Home Office fees means too many young people in Hackney and London are priced out of citizenship. 

I secured a Westminster Hall debate on immigration and nationality application fees to press this issue. These debates are opportunities for backbench MPs to raise issues and force a Minister to respond. I pointed out that currently a young person applying for citizenship must complete five separate costly applications. A single ‘leave to remain’ application costs £2593.
