Hackney teachers and schools achieved a miracle when they transformed, in a matter of days, to teach and support students virtually. But the Government is letting them down by hinting at a physical return without any proper guidance or plans to keep students and teachers safe.

Parliament is still working but with a mixture of virtual and physically present, socially distant MPs.

This week I cycled into Westminster to chair, the Public Accounts Committee hearing on advances on Universal Credit. This is money paid upfront to people who made a Universal Credit claim but can’t afford to wait five weeks for the first payment. The Public Accounts Committee also published a report calling out the Government on its failure in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). Read the report here.
