I restarted my Hackney doorstep surgeries this week where inadequate and overcrowded housing continues to dominate as a top issue. I’ll keep pressing the Government to build more decent and properly affordable homes.

The Public Accounts Committee published a report on zero-emission vehicles. We called out the Government for, once again, issuing targets but failing to detail plans on how to achieve them. See here to read the report in full and see here to read a summary.

I also met with Sustainable Hackney for a useful discussion with plenty of expert insight. We discussed issues relating to the Edmonton waste incinerator, the Government’s guidance on single-use plastics in the context of the pandemic, pollution at the River Lea, and much more. See my round-up for further details.

Targeted testing is continuing in parts of Shoreditch and Dalston. If you live in the affected areas it is important you take a COVID-19 PCR test to help Public Health England keep track of the virus. See here for further details.
