The Metropolitan Police is institutionally racist, sexist, and homophobic.
 
These are the findings of an independent review by Baroness Louise Casey – commissioned after the murder of Sarah Everard at the hands of a serving Metropolitan police constable. But for many in Hackney, these findings will come as no surprise. It is their lived reality. We need a police force that reflects modern London and serves modern London. There is a long way to go to change the culture of the Met. I’ll keep pressing for reform and for the Government to recognise the scale of the challenge. See here to read the report in full.  
 
The Public Accounts Committee held an evidence session on decarbonisation of the energy sector. There are a huge series of challenges ahead for the Government to achieve its 2035 target, so we'll keep watching this as a committee. See here to read the transcript of the session. 
 
And I met with Sanctuary Housing about their management of homes in Hackney. Many residents have raised concerns with me about their housing. If you are having problems with repairs or damp and mould in your house, please get in touch. I'll keep working to ensure tenants get a much better service.
