Ramadan provides us with an opportunity to reflect on our blessings and to think of those in difficult circumstances, and to come together as a community.
I know this Ramadan will be particularly difficult for many of you due to the tragic earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
My thoughts are particularly with communities who have lost loved ones in the earthquakes. Too many lives have been lost and too many families have been left without a home.
I have been touched to see how communities in Hackney and across London have pulled together to support each other and those affected. I am proud to be the Member of Parliament for Hackney South and Shoreditch.
Hackney is home to thriving Turkish and Kurdish communities, and I stand with you during this terrible time. I have pressed the Home Secretary about a Family Reunion Scheme visa for people who have lost their homes and have family in the UK.
In the meantime, if you are concerned about British relatives or friends in Turkey, please call the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in London on 020 7008 5000.
You can also send donations to the British Red Cross.
My very best wishes to you all.
