If you haven't had your first COVID-19 vaccine then please book here to receive an appointment tomorrow between 10am and 8pm at the London Stadium in the Olympic Park. There are no walk-in appointments available so you do need to book ahead. For more information, see here.

This week the Public Accounts Committee challenged officials from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). In response to the COVID-19 pandemic the Department has announced a range of measures to support people to get and keep a job.

We know that young people are disproportionally affected by unemployment resulting from the pandemic. Young black British, Caribbean and African people are even harder hit, with unemployment having risen 17 per cent as a result of COVID-19. The Department is now working with Hackney Council to try and stem and reverse job losses amongst this group. It is paramount that no cohort is left behind in the post-pandemic recovery.

I also challenged the Environment Agency on unacceptable sewage overflows into the River Lea, and will continue to monitor this situation. See my weekly round up below.
